            Herman Melville is one of the greatest authors American literature. His best known book Moby-Dick. In this article I have tried to provide a brief overview narrative strategy used by create such great masterpiece. It focused on Melville’s style which close modernist and post- writings. ahead time he lived. The first phrase Moby-Dick – “Call me Ismael” may be considered as iconic lines in Literature. reader follows Ismael from Manhattan Nantucket through narration full mysticism. dark streets Souter-Inn, crowded with people different origin, belief skin color prepares for dangerous adventure. shares also its Shakespearean tragedies, example, King Lear. Both, Captain Ahab Lear, represent accursed, obstinate characters who decided fight against fate. Melville, using his experience member crew whale ship, gives circumstantial description sailors’ lifestyle provides characterization kinds whales. makes very interesting completed encyclopedia about whales life sea general. Moby-Dick’s structure moves “floats” like “Pequod” deep, endless ocean. writing seems quite complex intricate captures sentence captivates their minds forever.
